Modern Warfare 2 è sicuramente uno dei migliori giochi realizzati da parte di Infinity Ward ed in un certo senso, anche l'ultimo. Nel 2010, Activision licenziò West e Zampella (i fondatori) che vennero seguiti da gran parte dei dipendenti formando, successivamente Respawn Entertainment sotto l'ala protettrice di EA.
Tornando a noi, Modern Warfare 2 prende ogni singolo elemento del suo predecessore (CoD4) e lo migliora. Il tutto si può quasi definire come un upgrade tecnico, ma la sua campagna e narrazione subiscono un boost di qualità, per non parlare della componente multiplayer ampliata all'ennesima potenza (ci giocai online su PlayStation 3, attualmente sarà pieno di cheater oppure non ci sarà nessuno).
Nonostante siano passati 9 anni dalla sua uscita, è invecchiato decisamente bene, complice forse la buona qualità del porting che tutt'ora si è dimostrato estremamente compatibile con l'hardware odierno.
Detto ciò, non posso che non consigliarlo, soprattutto agli appassionati del genere.
